Summary of Bryce Dallas Howard on LettermanSummary of Bryce Dallas Howard on Letterman
As we mentioned yesterday, Bryce Dallas Howard was on the Late Show with David Letterman last night to help promote Lady in the Water. The show's official site broke down the segment like this:
"BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD: She's the daughter of Opie, Ron Howard. (I wonder if he hates that?) Happy news from Bryce; she was married a month ago in June. It was a big wedding up at her parent's place in Connecticut. Her mom was excited about the timing, since she had been planning a big family reunion for June. The wedding took place; and the family reunion took place the next day --- a 3-week cruise in Europe. Bryce's honeymoon consisted of being on a boat for 3 weeks with 31 of her relatives. Yikes.
Bryce grew up in Connecticut. Why did Ron Howard move to Connecticut when all the Hollywood business takes place in Hollywood? Because all the Hollywood business takes place in Hollywood, I guess. Ron wanted a more normal upbringing for his children, away from the show biz nonsense. Bryce says the last straw for her dad and the family living in Hollywood was when she came home from pre-school with a script that was handed to her. Time to go.
Bryce tells a funny story about her middle name. In her family, the children's middle name is based on where they were conceived. Ron told this story on Dave's Late Night program years ago. The next day, Bryce was teased by all her friends whose parents heard the story. One her siblings is named after a street. Why a street? Because it was better than being named "Volvo."
"Lady in the Water" - opens this Friday. We see a clip. It's a black and white film of a woman underwater holding a breathing hose. She takes a nibble of a banana drifting by. Oops, wrong clip. We then see the right clip. Dave calls it a nice film for the summer when all the other movies are big gigantic blockbusters with super heroes and stuff. There's just the right amount of twists and head-scratching to make it really interesting."
Huzzah. Let's hear it for amusing celebrity anecdotes!
