Haley Joel Osment, Academy Award nominee and co-star of 1999's The Sixth Sense, has been charged with DUI and possession of marijuana following his automobile accident of July 20th.

Osment, who was hospitalized afterwards, but released the following day. At the time of his release from the hospital, E! Online reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department "said yesterday that there was no reason to suspect that illegal substances had anything to do with Osment's accident."

A statement yesterday from the LA County District Attorney's office, however, said that Osment's blood-alcohol level registered .16 at the time (twice the legal limit). Osment, who was also charged with possession of marijuana, potentially faces up to six months in jail.
